Children and Grandchildren of Italians

According to current legislation, children and grandchildren of Italians born in Italy who do not hold another nationality are eligible to apply.

Citizenship for Minors (Italy)

For underage children of Italian citizens. This application may be processed through the Civil Registry or via consular services.

Important: Applications must be submitted no later than May 30, 2026.

Citizenship for Spouses of Italians

Available to spouses of Italian citizens after:

• 3 years of marriage if residing abroad
• 2 years of marriage if residing in Italy

These periods are reduced to 18 months and 12 months, respectively, if the couple has children.

An Italian language certificate at B1 level is also required. If you meet the eligibility criteria, at Visandgo will handle the full preparation of your citizenship application.
